Located just off Northway Exit
12 in the Malta Commons Business Park, this year-round program is open
Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily. This developmental program
fits the needs of the children according to their ages and
individual progress. It uses a thematic approach to reading
readiness, language, science, math, art, music, social studies,
multi-cultural activities, health & nutrition, fitness,
and social-emotional growth for children ages 6 weeks through
5 years old. Tuition includes: meals (breakfast, lunch and
snack), swim time for 4 & 5 year olds, and a Pre-School
curriculum to prepare children for Kindergarten.
This center is licensed by New York State Office of Children
and Family Services to provide care for children ages six
weeks through five years.
The center is open daily 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through
Friday. It is closed to observe the following holidays: Labor
Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, Memorial Day,
and July 4th. We are also closed for staff training on Columbus
Day and Presidents' Day.
We do not provide part time care.
Swim lessons are included for four and five year olds weekly
when school is in session.
Our facilities include a large outdoor playground
and an indoor climber area.

Tuition includes: meals (breakfast, lunch and snack), swim time for 4 and 5-year olds, and a preschool curriculum to prepare children for Kindergarten. Formula and jar food is provided for infants.
Registration An immunization record and physical is required yearly
for each child.
A $75 non-refundable registration fee is required to register
your child.
First week and last week's tuition is required prior to
enrollment. Each week's tuition is due the Friday before
the week of attendance.
Financial Assistance may be available to qualified families.
DSS subsidies are accepted.
Security We have an open door policy for parents who are welcome
here anytime. A security code on the entrance door enables
only appropriate individuals to enter at will. All others
must ring a doorbell. Code is changed at various times throughout
the year. Outside doors in climber area have warning bells
when door is opened.
Meals Breakfast, Lunch, and Snack are provided daily for
all children eating table food. Formula with iron and First Foods
provided. Other required formulas or food will be provided
by the parents. A Dietary Supervisor is on staff to ensure
that all meals include daily dietary nutritional requirements
according to USDA guidelines.
Staff
All staff are offered First Aid and CPR training. Our
regulations require a minimum of 15 hours of classroom
trainings per year for each staff member. Staff are fingerprinted
and cleared through the New York State Central Register
for Child Abuse & Maltreatment. References are required.
New regulations require teachers to have a two-year Early
Childhood Degree, a CDA (Child Development Certificate),
or nine college credits in the field plus experience.
Curriculum
Infants - Teachers cuddle, hold, and talk to
babies throughout the day. Infants are held during bottle
feedings. Individual schedules are kept for feedings
and naps according to each child and parent needs. A
variety
of exersaucers, bouncy seats, swings, music, and toys
are available to encourage different experiences and
explorations.
Daily sheets are sent home with details on each child's
daily schedule. Parents provide formula or breast milk
(if not accepting formula provided), diapers & wipes,
and bedding. Nursing moms are welcome to nurse comfortably
on our sofa during the day if their schedule permits. After
15 months old children will need to transition from crib
to cot before moving to the Toddler Room. Buggies and strollers
are used to take children outside. Staff to child ratio is
1:4
Toddlers - Children are now napping on cots,
sitting at a small table to eat, and drinking out of
sippy cups. They are also eating food provided by the
center.
Climbers are now a necessity. Buggies are still used
to go outside but toddlers can now go out on the playground
and use the climber. Circle Time begins at this age but
children are not expected to sit for long periods of
time. Circle Time includes books and finger plays. Early
preschool
concepts and crafts are introduced. A toilet is in the
room for older toddlers to begin toilet training. Daily
sheets are still used. Staff to child ratio is 1:5
Preschoolers - A developmentally appropriate
preschool curriculum is followed which follows guidelines
provided by the National Association for the Education
of Young Children, New York State Office of Children and
Family Services, and the National YMCA. This curriculum
follows a thematic approach to reading readiness, language,
science, math, art, music, social studies, multicultural
activities, health/nutrition, fitness, and social-emotional
growth. Field trips (older two classes once a month, younger
class a few per year), class visitors, family and other
special events complement classroom learning throughout
the year. A copy can be provided to parents when children
enter this age group. We keep in contact with the local
schools to make sure we are getting children ready for
kindergarten. We do student evaluations once or twice a
year with parent conferences available. Children are still
potty training in first classroom and must be completely
potty trained before entering the next room. Swim lessons
begin in the older two classes. Summer program is more
recreational and there are more field trips. Field trip
entrance fees must be paid by parents.
